The Year 6 residential to Biblins was a huge success with all the children returning home with great tales of their endeavours both on and off the river. The group paddled for three days down the River Wye taking in the wonderful surroundings, overcoming some tricky sections of the river and camping out. It was fantastic to see the Year 6 children taking to the challenge and as they paddled into Monmouth on the final morning there was a real sense of achievement amongst the group.
They all came away having improved their paddling techniques and all had the opportunity to be in charge of ‘steering’ their canoe by sitting at the back and navigating down the river. There were also some lessons learnt about keeping your tent in an orderly fashion and making sure it was zipped up to avoid the contents getting wet!
All in all it was a fantastic few days and all of the children should be proud of the way they conducted themselves and what they achieved. A very successful expedition down the River Wye.
