Wildflower growing

Congratulations to our Prep and Pre-Prep Environment Committee pupils, who created our stunning wildflower patch.

Last term, after the grounds team had cleared the brambles, our environmentally-minded pupils prepared the soil and sewed the wildflower seeds to increase the diversity of flora on the school site and benefit many valuable pollinators.

All over the summer, and into the Christmas term, the flowers attracted bees, wasps, butterflies and a host of other insects, transferring pollen as they went from flower to flower - it was pollination heaven!

The newly-elected Environment Committee members organised a fruit pick and forage on the school site of blackberries, apples and pears, plus volunteered their time for a litter pick at West Wittering during Saturday Activities.
