'Traders and Raiders' with Year 4
Mrs Davies’ class threw themselves into some Anglo-Saxon cooking this half term. Our Year 4 pupils made honey oat cakes using a traditional Anglo-Saxon recipe (with some slightly more modern techniques!)
This lesson was used to kick off their new topic ‘Traders and Raiders,’ and it proved to be a delicious way to connect with history. The children were invited to consider the cooking, cleaning and storage methods of the Early Medieval period.
We're so fortunate to be able to use our amazing specialist teachers to support our class topic learning. Their expertise allows us to broaden the children's experiences and explore different styles of learning that really help bring our classwork to life
Mrs Davies
Mrs Bonn got into character, dressing up as an Anglo-Saxon and telling the children all about her life in the early medieval period. The children soon got into the spirit of things and were roaring away like the fierce Anglo Saxons!
