The Old Westbournians played their first match as Shopwyke Corinthians against a "President's XI" on Sunday 5th February. The Shopwyke Corinthians fielded a youthful but experienced side marshaled by Alastair Pusinelli. Many had made the long trek from London. Bing Stanley made a three hour journey to get to the match by train. The
President’s XI was made up entirely of WHS staff, with ages ranging from 18 to 59. It was a tight game and no prisoners were taken. The score was 2-2 at full time and after 17 minutes of "Golden Goal" time Brandon Hanley netted from a tight angle. A great game.
